Arts and Heritage
The level and nature of service we provide for arts and heritage organisations is tailored to the needs and resources of the client. This reflects the diversity of the sector and individuality of client organisations. We can look at feasibility and readiness for fundraising, provide strategic planning and advice, support and supplement staff to enable them to meet new demands, or we can take on complete campaign management.
We have a strong track record of success with National Lottery Heritage Fund (formerly HLF) applications and in helping organisations achieve matched funding.
Current and recent clients include:
Grayshott Concerts - recent
Grayshott Concerts, a successful classical music promoter on the border of Hampshire and Surrey contacted us in 2020 for help with their strategic development, fundraising and Trustee recruitment. Over 12 months we worked closely with their Board, starting with the implementation of a new strategic development plan.
Despite strong support from an active and highly engaged Friends network, the challenges Grayshott Concerts were facing are not un-typical of many classical music organisations. Together with one of our consultants and a wide range of local schools, care homes and other stakeholders, they made great strides in developing their community outreach programme, which is now supported by a number of local trusts.
St Mary's Collegiate Church, Warwick - recent
In December 2022, our longstanding client, the grade 1 listed Collegiate Church of St Mary’s in Warwick, successfully completed a £1.2m campaign for the restoration of the church’s iconic tower. This included a £250,000 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for the repairs and the installation of a Virtual Reality exhibition display of interactive 3D representations of the church’s 900-year history viewable through smartphones and tablets. A local games company is developing the application with input from the young people of Warwick through focus groups, workshops, and partnerships with local schools, scouting groups, youth centres and voluntary organisations.
Craigmyle led a project team of church staff, professional services and volunteers during a 16 month-long campaign which saw, apart from the NLHF award, an engaged community giving campaign, a £115,000 grant from the local authority and a trust campaign achieving £700,000.
Pembrokeshire County Council - current client
In 2021, a team of Craigmyle Consultants was commissioned by Pembrokeshire County Council to draft a complex funding application within Round 1 of the UK Levelling Up Fund in support of a major heritage and culture focused town centre regeneration project at Haverfordwest. The project involved close partnership working with the Council and other commissioned consultancy teams to develop a successful £17.7m bid in under three months. A second bid to secure National Lottery Heritage Fund support for a community consultation project at Haverfordwest Castle was completed successfully in early 2022, while a third-stage project to fundraise for a major new visitor attraction within the castle is ongoing.
