Pembroke Academy of Music

Children learning to play brass instruments in music class.

Pembroke Academy of Music (PAM) provides music tuition and performance opportunities to children aged 7-14 from disadvantaged backgrounds in and around Walworth South London. PAM’s approach focuses on developing technical musical skills alongside life skills such as teamwork, listening and confidence. Access to, and participation in the arts are main drivers and together with a wide range of partners, PAM addresses deep rooted social issues that persist in South London such as poverty, deprivation, inequality and isolation. The programme gives young people a purpose and improves their life skills and life chances.

We helped PAM secure Arts Council funding which allowed them to secure professional tutors for the academic year 2025-26 and cement local partnerships with professional ensembles.
